Improve the widget design
Compared to the in-app aesthetic, the widget seems to be a little crude. I hope the font gets a little smaller, and the list and tags are optionally visible too.

I would love to see two types of widget options: first with an option to see the month on one side and the day's tasks/events pane on the other And second perhaps a three day pane of events/tasks

Seconded! The font size makes the small widget completely unusable
Changing it so that entry text fits inside the widget borders rather than trailing off might also be better.
